a few words from the photographer...

Most people know Carmel, fewer people get to Carmel Valley, but almost nobody gets out into the remote extension of the Valley.   The road travels over Chews Ridge to Arroyo Seco and on to the great Salinas Valley near Greenfield.

a few technical notes...
Polaroid Type52 4x5 sheet film. 4x5 Calumet view camera on tripod, with 210mm Schneider Symmar lens.   Lens was tilted forward during focusing for maximum depth of field.
